Stuff _____ people like

If you haven’t caught wind of this new blog trend, then you must continue reading.

It all started with “Stuff White People Like” — a rather brilliant idea for a blog/site, if you ask me. The site’s about us page explains the site as follows:

This is a scientific approach to highlight and explain stuff white people like. They are pretty predictable.

Not only well though out and verbose (or not), it surely possesses stopping power — almost as much as Overheard in __. As you can expect, the site has caused quite a stir online and offline, with the site gaining free PR from tons of outlets (now including myself). Now there have been a bunch of copycats as well as bloggers listing potential expansions to the idea.

Here are some sites/posts I could find playing off this idea:

Here are some ideas from ThunkDifferent on where this may lead to:

  • Stuff People Like
  • Stuff Americans like
  • Stuff Suburbanites like
  • Stuff Democrats like
  • Stuff Republicans like
  • Stuff Ralph Nadar likely likes
  • Stuff people in this mail catalogue probably like
  • Stuff my boss likes
  • Stuff people at my high school like
  • Stuff people at ___ university like
  • Stuff other people can’t like
  • Stuff WASPS like
  • Stuff fat people like
  • Stuff people shopping at office max like (haha, just there!)
  • Stuff progressive fill-in-the-blank-religion like
  • Stuff PC Yuppies like
  • Stuff the person next to me at the coffee shop likes

So the question lies, is this cool, proper, and ok? Or is it raciest, wrong, and inappropriate?
