A true hidden gem in iTunes is the iTunes U selection. There is a really great content in there. I’ve mostly been listening to Duke’s Distinguished Speaker Series and Knowledge@Wharton, but there are a few other great courses here and there too.

On the podcast side I have begun listening to Jason Calacanis’ This Week in Start-Ups, restarted Leo Laport’s This Week in Tech, and added Ad Age Audio Reports, the Appletellcast (of course), Old Jews Telling Jokes, and Loo & Placido’s Electronic Popstar Killers.

Wow, it’s been close to a year without any updates. Sorry for that, things have just been crazy. I have moved back to NY, bought an apartment, got engaged :), rotated to the global Dove team at Unilever and am working on a new innovation platform for 2010, been streamlining Dabbledoo Media given the economic downturn, and have recently launched dabbledoo/design letting me be a bit more creative.

I’ve had tons of thoughts running through my mind as I am slowly preparing to leave Hamburg after six months and come back home, but for some reason I am not sure how to express them without rambling.

Maybe an afternoon in the park and some good music can solve the blockage…

According to a recent NY Times article here are the top 11 foods that you should be eating, but probably aren’t (and suggestions on how to eat them):

1. Beets – Fresh, raw and grated to make a salad. Heating decreases the antioxidant power.
2. Cabbage – Asian-style slaw or as a crunchy topping on burgers and sandwiches.
3. Swiss Chard – Chop and saute in olive oil.
4. Cinnamon – Sprinkle on coffee, apple sauce or oatmeal.
5. Pomegranate Juice – Just drink it.
6. Dried Plums – aka prunes
7. Pumpkin Seeds – Roasted as a snack, or sprinkled on salad.
8. Sardines – Choose sardines packed in olive or sardine oil. Eat plain, mixed with salad, on toast, or mashed with dijon mustard and onions as a spread.
9. Turmeric – Mix with scrambled eggs or in any vegetable dish.
10. Frozen Blueberries (or fresh, in season) – to long to list.
11. Canned Pumpkin – Mix with a little butter, cinnamon and nutmeg.

How many do you eat?

I am always that person who has never seen … movie. Well I have just added two ‘classics’ to my list. Via iTune’s $.99 movie rental of the week I have watched both The Usual Suspects and The Untouchables. I have to say that I enjoyed both immensely, especially for $.99 each.

Next up is Robocop…

I have made it to July and into the home stretch! I have 8 more days of work and 11 total days left in Hamburg before retuning home.

The countdown is not because I didn’t enjoy my time here in Hamburg, it really has been a great 6 months, but I am super duper excited to be back home in NY/NJ with family and friends in less than two weeks (yes I said super duper).

I commend ESPN for running this video 60 years after WWII/the Holocaust, just hours before the Eurocup finals in Viena, Austria (Spain vs. Germany). While we need to move on from what happened in Germany and Europe, we should not forget.

When I was home last week I had bought a bunch of new CDs…yes I still buy CDs — I greatly prefer buying a CD and then ripping it to my PC, rather than just downloading and accidentally losing the files at some point in the future when I move computers/hard drives.
